Sean Diddy Combs offered the Judge an intriguing option in exchange for a leaner sentence, but the Judge did not seem to consider it, let's review.

Recall during pre-trial, Prosecution was concerned that Combs was giving orders by phone while locked up. Consider those who testified against Combs concerned that they may be in danger once Combs is released after seving his jail sentence. Remember for a moment, Sean Diddy Combs submitted a letter to the Judge promising to never break the law again in exchange for a light sentence. Add all three situations together and what if....

What if the Judge had offered a light sentence specifically because Combs had promised to never break the law again and the Judge would now double down on that promise by giving Combs two options, a significantly shorter sentence if Combs agrees to allow his phone and that of his family to be tapped by law enforcement at any time, without the need for a warrant, OR, Combs could accept a significantly longer sentence, but Combs' Family would then have phone privacy going forward.

Most people believe the verdict should be based on what has already transpired, what was litigated in court, not what might or might not happen in the future.

I find the concept of someone having to back their future promise to never break the law again with complete phone transparency without need of a warrant, a fascinating solution.

Of course, all those who feel they were victimized by Combs and who spoke as witnesses at Comb's trial, would have to agree to this solution, which most likely would involve financial compensation as well.
